Boarding Policies & Procedures
Dogs that cannot stay here:
All dogs that stay at Doggy Come Play boarding must be able to be put into play groups with other dogs. We do not accept dogs that are not social with other dogs, jump 6 foot fences or eat rocks.
Some dogs may get along well with other dogs (1-2 dogs at a time) but maybe not in a large group of dogs. We will work with your dog to get him used to their new group of friends if needed, but if they show any signs of aggression toward other dogs or employees we will keep them separate from others and ask that you not bring them back again.
If your dog seems to be stressed in a large group of dogs, they might not be the social type and we might not be a good fit for your dog. If this is the case we will let you know and help you find other options for them. Remember we have your dog’s best interest in mind while they are here.
Barking:
We know that dogs will bark, but if your dog barks non stop for no reason, then they will not be allowed to come back.
You must also understand that there are risks and benefits associated with group socialization of dogs. But we feel the benefits outweigh the risks. While the socialization and play are closely and carefully monitored by staff, it is still possible that during the course of normal play dogs may receive minor nicks and scratches from roughhousing with other dogs.

General Rules:
- If your dog has not stayed with us before you MUST fill out an enrollment form and complete a trial day at our daycare facility
- There is no pickup or drop off at boarding on Wednesdays. Wednesday is our day off! (Staff members are there to care for your dog) This is why you can pick your dog up on weekends. Thank you for understanding.
- We provide everything your dog’s needs to be comfortable and have fun. If you feel you would like to bring your dog’s own bed, food or toys please feel free to do so. We do provide bowls.
- Food must be well labeled with name and feeding instructions. Our normal routine is to feed once in the morning and once in the evening.
- We do not charge for medication. But medication must be prepackaged in either a pill container or baggy for each day dosing for a.m. or p.m. dosing. Example Monday am Monday pm
- All dogs must have a nylon collar with a name tag on it. If your dog comes without a name tag, we will make one for you and charge your stay an additional $12.00. We do have a tag machine on site and we can make you one at drop off.
- Vaccination records required: All dogs must be current on vaccinations. DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies. Canine influenza is optional please check with your vet for their recommendation for canine influenza vaccine. We need these records from vet before your arrival. If you bring them the day of drop off and your dog is for some reason not current on vaccinations, you will need to take them home. So it’s a good idea to be sure we get them beforehand. We also suggest that your dog be on a flea and tick program.
What to expect when you drop off your dog:
When you drop your dog off, we will put him in a quiet area until you leave and everyone settles down, then we will introduce your dogs to his new friends. Please let us know the feeding instructions, medications or any other information that is necessary. What to expect when you pick up you dog: Your dog will be tired. Boarding is a fun and exciting place to be, but it can also be exhausting. You dog may go home and find their favorite place and crash for a few hours. They may have sore pads. Running and chasing new friends all day long can be rough on your dog’s feet and pads may get sore. On occasion, we have a dog that gets so busy they forget to drink enough water or eat well. Dogs have water available to them at all times. So if your dog comes home thirsty, or hungry, please monitor their intake of food and water for a few hours. We try to keep the dogs as clean as possible but when dogs play with other dogs they do get sweaty and may smell like a dog. We do offer baths for them if you wish, just let us know ahead of time. Again thank you and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to email or call us. |
