Boarding FAQs
How many hours a day does my dog get to play outside?
They can spend as many as 10 hours a day outside. All dogs that stay with us eat and sleep separately and weather permitting spend 8 to 10 hours each day outside in our play yards. In short, 8 to 10 hours of playtime is inluded with boarding at no extra cost. How do you introduce my dog to other dogs in a playgroup safely? When you drop your dog off, we will put your dog in a quite area until you leave and everyone has a chance to settle down and your dog gets use to his surroundings. Then we will let them meet their new friends. Why is it when I pick up my dog, he is separate from other dogs? Does this mean he’s been bad?Managing dogs in large groups can be tricky. When someone pulls in, all the dogs get very excited and sometimes bossy with other dogs. So when we know you are coming we take your dog out of the play group so that we don’t have to upset everyone by going in and getting your dog out of the pack.. It also gives your dog a chance to unwind before you come and pick them up. |
What if my dog is a fence jumper? At this time we do not board dogs that will climb or jump a 6’ fence. Do dogs ever get into a fight? Dogs play with their teeth and feet. The majority of the time, if a dog ends up with a minor puncture wound or scratch, it is from overzealous play, not a fight or skirmish. What if my dog doesn’t get along with the other dogs? We require all dogs that go to either daycare or boarding to be well socialized and get along with others. Each dog will be evaluated by us the first visit. Only dogs that are non aggressive towards other dogs will be allowed in playgroups. Dogs that show signs of not getting along with other dogs will board alone (with play time with staff) and we will ask that the dog not be brought back. We will help you find a new boarding facility if you need us to. |
Why are you closed on Wednesdays and who takes care of the dogs? We use Wednesdays as our deep cleaning day and without dogs being pick up and dropped off it makes it a lot easier to do so. Also by being closed Wednesdays, we are able to be open on Sundays. What forms of payment do you take? We accept checks or cash at time of pick up. We do not accept credit or debit cards at this time. Are there any extra charges for playtime or dispensing of medication or special diets? No, there are no extra charges for playtime, medications or special diets. The boarding rate is all-inclusive. Are you open year round? We are closed the first week in February each year. We do not accept reservations for dogs who need to be here in that time frame. We do have dogs staying with us but our office is not open on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Limited hours on Christmas Eve and the night before Thanksgiving. |
